Step 4. Now it’s time to add the images. I drew the mask in Adobe Illustrator and the map I’d scanned some time ago. You’ll notice I’ve turned off visibility of my “frame” layer for the time being. I don’t want it as a distraction at this stage of the design. I’ll bring it back at the end.

Open both image files and copy them onto separate layers in your stamp image file. Adjust the sizes until you’re comfortable with the basic composition. Don't worry about their colors right now, we’ll take care of that in the next step.

This is where you get to use your creative abilities. What you’re doing, in effect, is creating a digital collage. When creating artistamps use as few or as many individual images as you choose. Just be mindful that you’re working with a very small canvas, approximately .75" x 1.25" if you make it the size of a real postage stamp. Tiny images will vanish once everything’s put together.
