3. Next youll select the transparent area you just created, add
a new layer and fill the empty space with a background color. Select the Magic Wand tool from the Toolbox and highlight the empty space inside the frame layer. You should see the marching ants inside the frame area indicating your selection. Now create a new layer by clicking the New Layer icon at the bottom of the Layers palette. Make sure this layer is below the frame layer and is the active layer. I named this layer red background. There are several ways to select color in Photoshop. The image at left shows that I used the sliders until I saw a color I liked. You can also type in the RGB (or CMYK) values for a color, select a color from the color bar or pick one from the swatches palette. Using the method you prefer, choose a color for the background. Fill the selection area with the background color using the Paint Bucket tool. |
